Obituary of William Van Huffman Jr

William V Huffman Jr. passed on August 3rd at 3:30 pm in Gridley. He was third generation rice farmer in Gridley, CA. He graduated from Humboldt State with a degree in Journalism. He went to work for KFBK in Sacramento then on to Sacramento Bee. His distinguished career in agriculture began at the Federal Land Bank and continued with Farmers Rice Co Op for 33 years before his eventual retirement to Lake Almanor. After being diagnosed with ALS he returned to Gridley and lived out the rest of his life with his loving wife and best friend, Sheila Huffman. He loved living in Gridley visiting with old friends he grew up with. Bill is survived by his wife, 4 children, many grandchildren, and countless friends.
