Obituary of Florinda Ann Smith

Her Legacy… Florinda Ann (Foster) Smith was born on February 19, 1961 in Topeka, Kansas to Mary Josephine (Reed) Foster and Alfred Reid Foster. She was the eldest of three children; Annie as we called her grew up in Azusa, California after the family relocated to California in late 1961. She graduated from Gladstone High School in 1979. She married Matthew Maine and had three children, Augustene, Matthew and Mary. This marriage ended and she relocated to Oroville in 1991. It was there she met the love of her life Kenneth Smith; they married on July 13, 1992. Annie worked as an in-home health care provider. Her clients loved her very much. She had a great sense of humor and was very caring. She loved her dogs and always had a four legged friend with her where ever she went. Annie lost her battle with cancer on November 3, 2018 in Oroville, California. She fought a good fight. She will be deeply missed.

 

Her Family… Annie is survived by her beloved husband Kenneth Smith, of Oroville, CA; her son Matthew (Suzetta) Maine of Westminster, CO; her daughter Mary (Keith) Hayes, of Oroville, CA; her siblings, Betty (Bob) Bestwick, Alfred (Carla) Foster of Oroville, CA; her grandchildren Megan Gilstrap-Smith, Katrina Gilstrap-Smith, Damien Hayes, Cougar Hayes, and Keira Maine. She is also survived by a host of nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, cousins and friends. She is preceded in death by her daughter Augustene Smith, her parents, Alfred Reid Foster, Mary Jo & Bill Lunbeck, her grandparents James & Florinda Reed, and her uncle David Reed.

 

Her Farewell Service… Her Memorial Service will be held on Wednesday, November 14, 2018 at 10:00 AM at Ramsey Funeral Home, 1175 Robinson Street, Oroville, CA. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to the American Cancer Society or charity of choice. Arrangements are entrusted to Ramsey Funeral Home 530-534-3877.
